Information about school reopening

We are very much looking forward to welcoming some children back to school on Wednesday 3rd June. I'm sure everyone will have seen the information sent out by Mrs Darrell with plans for reopening but I wanted to share with you how that will look for our class.

Reception class will be in our usual classroom, taught by me and Mrs Jephson. We will not be mixing with any other year groups or going into any other rooms.

The school day will begin at 9am and children can be dropped off at our classroom cloakroom door on Coronation Street. Pick up time is at 2.30 from the same door.

Please remember to keep your social distance with each other at drop off and pick up times. Because of this it may also take a little longer than usual. Please wait to talk with me at the end of the day when I will have more time. Or do email with any questions, concerns or anything I can help you with.

The children will be asked to wash their hands as soon as they come in in the morning, you could talk this through with them and have a look at some of the guidance for safe hand washing I've attached below. We will be talking with the children about this and supporting them in our new routines.

Please don't bring any extra items from home other than a named water bottle and sunhat if the weather is warm. We will be outside as much as possible. It is advised that all children wear clean uniform each day.

The classroom will look a little different. I will put up some photos on Monday so you can talk this through with your child. We will still be doing lots of fun activities though!

We will be focusing on settling all the children back in and making sure they have a happy day whilst adjusting to some of the changes. Whilst the safety of the children and wider school community is the highest priority we are confident that we will still be able to provide a meaningful, fun and stimulating day of learning.

We very much look forward to welcoming you back Reception Class!

While We Can't Hug

Here is a lovely video to help explain social distancing to children. Hedgehog and Tortoise want to give each other a great big hug, but they're not allowed to touch.
