Dear Class 6 Parents/Carers,

This term’s topic is called ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ and is about our impact on the environment, our use of
natural resources and sustainable sources of energy. Some of the other subjects will be taught following
elements of this theme. The science topic this term is: The Properties of Materials. Please see topic web for
This term the children will be set a weekly English skills homework which will begin on 24th April and is now
set on a Wednesday. This will be completed in their homework book. The children will continue to be set a
weekly spelling list (which will now be on Wednesdays) reflecting the focus of that week’s spelling lessons and
be tested the following Monday. Reading books and reading records will continue to go home each week.
Children will also be expected to do mental maths homework and this half term’s facts will be stuck into their
homework book for the children to practise. They will be tested on Fridays. There is also the regular Mathletics
homework to be done too.
Please note that all children should have their own P.E. kit in school. Long hair should be tied back and
earrings removed for health and safety reasons. Please ensure that all items of clothing are labelled with your
child’s name, thank you. Class 6’s PE lessons are on Tuesdays and Fridays.
I am really looking forward to a happy and successful final term in Class 6 and hope the children are too,
especially with a Summer production to plan and perform! If at any time you have any concerns or issues you
would like to discuss, then please come and see me as soon as possible; after school is generally the best
